Krystal was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. Growing up in a neighborhood that only focused on drugs and violence, Krystal has become “a rose from concrete.” She has always dreamed of becoming a model, but had no resources to pursue it. Krystal started to make goals for herself, she did not want to become a product of her environment. Krystal went to Borough of Manhattan Community College, she played NJCAA Basketball and was Student Government Association President. As President, she was awarded the opportunity to deliver a memorable graduation speech at Madison Square Garden. Then she attended SUNY College at Old Westbury, where she was a Resident Assistant, Captain of NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball and Cross-Country Teams, and made into a sophisticated member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Something was still missing, her dream. Everywhere she went, people asked; “Are you a Model?” Inspired by her mother’s childhood dream of being a model, Krystal decided to make it a reality. Now when people ask that same question, she replies; “Yes…..I am a model.” Her family members are her #1 support group and she feels without them, this would not be possible. “I just want every young person to be inspired by my story! Remember that dreams are real, all you have to do is just believe!” -Krystal G.
